Esther Weinstein Obstler, 83, of 2648 Riverside Drive in Bassett, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC . She was born on September 1, 1928 to Nathan Weinstein and Mollie Bernstein Weinstein, who preceded her in death. Esther was a graduate of Peabody Institute of Music Education and was a piano teacher for over 55 years. She was a life-long member of Ohev Zion Synagogue.
She is survived by a daughter, Mona Auerbach of Ann Arbor, Michigan; two sons, Marc Obstler of the residence in Bassett and Neal Obstler of Danville; one sister, Rhona Bertman of Boca Raton, Florida; one brother, Irving Weinstein of Newport News and two grandsons.
A private graveside service will be held at Ohev Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the residence, 2648 Riverside Drive in Bassett.
