Frances Janene Turner Rogers

Frances Janene “Jan” Turner Rogers, 89, of Bassett, Va. passed away at her home Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was born in Stanleytown, Va, September 21, 1936, to Curtis Clifton Turner and Nellie Gauldin Turner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carlis F. Turner.

She is survived by her very devoted and loving husband of 73 years, Morris Rogers; sons, Maurice Benton “Ben” Rogers (Lisa) and John David Rogers (Kimberly); granddaughters, Shyla A. Rogers and Katie Jo Rogers; grandson, Benton Rogers (Amber); great grandson, Deacon Rogers; step granddaughter Kristen Potter.

Jan was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church. She was a military wife and worked at different places wherever her husband was stationed during his 40-year career with the U.S. Air Force. She last worked as a food and beverage manager for Sheraton Inn.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at McKee-Stone Funeral Home Chapel, located at 109 Broad Street, Martinsville on Thursday, July 2, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at McKee-Stone and will be officiated by Minister Tim Woods. An interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park
