Garnett Gregory Reed

Garnett Gregory Reed, 90, of 29461 Jeb Stuart Hgwy, Spencer, died Friday, March 02, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Canaan, West Virginia on June 12, 1921 to the late Andrew Edward Gregory and Bessie Alkire Gregory. She was retired from J. P. Stevens where she worked as a loom operator.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Reed, one daughter, Doris F. Reed, one son, Ricky L. Reed, Sr., two sisters, Locie Gregory and Icie Tharp, two brothers, Clinton Gregory and Lester Gregory and one great-granddaughter, Lynette Langley.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol Sue Lunsford of Randleman, NC and Glynda R. Cassady of Spencer, one sister, Della Corley of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Trent Wall officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Bassett chapel one hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the home at 29461 Jeb Stuart Hgwy, Spencer.
