Hazel Hudson Lackey

Mrs. Hazel Hudson Lackey, age 98 of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Mrs. Lackey was born on December 26, 1921 in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was a daughter of the late Cager Lee Hudson and the late Dellia Florence Ratliff Hudson. She was also deceased by a daughter, Polly Padgett, a son, C.E. Lackey, six sisters, Effie Foster, Odesssh Nance, Ada Beasley, Hattie Mae Griffin, Blanch Young, Opal Sexton, four brothers, William Daniel Hudson, Jack Hudson, Preston Hudson and Emmit Hudson. She worked many years as an inspector for Pannell Mills. She was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Lackey is survived by three daughters, Alvina Rea (Steve), Aileen Kendrick, Victoria “Vickie” Utt, three sons, Thomas “Tom” Lackey (Patricia), Reverend Cletus Lackey (Cheryl), Bruce Lackey (Angelita), seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great -great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Spring Street Baptist Church with Reverend Nick McCorquodale and the Reverend Cletus Lackey officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
