Howard Burton DeHart, 85, of Meadows of Dan, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. He was born in Meadows of Dan on September 22, 1930 to Harman J. DeHart, Sr. and Cassie Nolen DeHart. Howard served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and he was retired from Holman & Moody where he served as Vice President for 45 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Adams DeHart in 2005 and his brother, Harman J. DeHart, Jr.
Surviving are his sisters, Hazel D. Coggin of Stoneville, NC; Carolyn D. Lawson of Margaret City, NJ and Hilda D. Roden of Lake George, NY.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Chapel with Full Military Rites to be performed by Veterans Honor Guard of Martinsville & Henry County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be held in Roselawn Burial Park at a later date.
