Ida Ruth Lacy Parker, 98, of Blue Ridge Village, Martinsville, went home to her Lord on Sunday April 27, 2014. She was born in Bassett on March, 28, 1916 to the late Ida Shelton Turner and Joe Turner. She was retired from Bassett Furniture Industries and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Clark, Clarence Lacy and Noah Parker, one son, Herbert Randolph Clark, two sisters, Bethie Crews and Dora Turner, five brothers, Artis, Vanious, Sylvester, Joseph and Amon Turner and one grandson, Brandon Peters.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances Newman of Bassett and Jean Peters of Martinsville, one son, Noah Junior Parker of Stoneville, NC and one adopted son Ricky Lacy, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Moore officiating, interment will be held in Shady Rest Cemetery in Bassett. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to services.
