In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ralpholene Martin Moore; his son Randy Lee Moore; sister, Clara Jane Spencer, sister-in-law, Charlene Bottomley Moore; brothers-in-law, Billy Knighten, Paul Massey, David Lee Spencer and James Fulcher
He is survived by two grandchildren, Samantha Plybon (Brentlee) and Rachel Garrison (Nathan); two great grandchildren, Owen James and Phoebe; sisters, Dorothy Lee Martin (Ricky), Ethel Marie Knighten, Mary Frances Massey, Shirley Mae Fulcher and Brenda Hill (Steve); brothers, Jerry Wayne Moore (Trona), Ronnie Jackson Moore (Sharon) and Roger Price Moore; special nephew George Cutchins; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friend Sandra Murphy and Special Canine Companion “Missy”.
Grady was of the Baptist faith and had his membership placed at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. Grady loved his family. He had a very friendly personality, never met a stranger and thought a lot of his many friends. He was a very hard worker his entire life. He retired from the City of Martinsville water department with 37 years of service. While working for the city, he also managed Stone Theater and the 220 Drive In Theater. After retiring from the city, he worked for 10 years at the Martinsville Ice Plant. He also worked at the Martinsville Speedway and also helped 2 building contractors.
He also had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed his time hunting and fishing.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 10:50 am Saturday, June 25, 2026, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, Va. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am and will be officiated by Pastor Howard Owens and Mr. Calvin Wright. Interment will be in Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Mount Bethel United Methodist Church.
