
She was born in Stanleytown, VA, April 21, 1935, to the late Luther Moses Minter and Maggie Lee Kasey Minter. She was also preceded in death by her loving daughter Sheri Faith Jarrett, sisters Ruth Gibbs Boswell, Adna Thomasson and Thelma Durham, brothers W. Clifford Minter, Luther W. Minter, William “Billy” Minter and George Blanton Minter.
She leaves behind many precious memories for her devoted husband Wayman Darrow Jarrett, treasured son, Gary Dean Jarrett and wife Donna of Bassett, and a cherished grandson, William Dean Jarrett and wife Kristen of Martinsville. Jo Ann enjoyed and celebrated the accomplishments of her great-grandchildren, Will, Ben and Kate Jarrett. She is also survived by sisters, Foster Harris of Collinsville, Betty Jane Scott of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Carol Koger of Bassett, and sister-in law, Pattie Minter of Bassett, and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann was a member of Blackberry Baptist Church and worked for Bassett Furniture Industries for 17 ½ years.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery with Minister Tim Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, at Collins Funeral Home, Bassett.
