Joan Hancock Haynes, 77, of Bassett, Va. passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her home. She was born in Patrick County, June 15, 1947, to the late Homer David Hancock and Frances Koger Hancock.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Haynes; sons, Jason Haynes and Adam Haynes (Cristy); grandson, Cameron Haynes and granddaughter, Caroline Belle; brother, Dale Hancock and wife Debbie; several beloved nieces and nephews.
Joan worked as a receptionist for the Oncology Department at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
Joan enjoyed reading, working in her flower garden, collecting antiques, cooking, looking after her grandchildren, listening to Elvis Presley songs. Most of all she loved her Lord and her family.
A celebration of life service, officiated by Pastor Danny Hart, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
