

Lola Mae Terry Joyce, 81, of Bassett, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Laurel Fork, VA., on July 20, 1931, to the late Lerty Jackson Terry and Ortha Webb Terry. She was a member of Blackberry Baptist Church for more than sixty years, a Sunday School Teacher, Leader of The Golden Agers, a member of W.M.U, a member of the choir, headed the Bereavement Meals, and was part of the church Social Committee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty eight years, James Troy Joyce and two sisters, Vivian T. Bowman and Mabel T. Webb.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Reverend Daryl Joyce and his wife Jennifer of Danville, and Eric Joyce and his wife Sherry of Carrollton, Georgia, one brother, L.J. Terry of Laurel Fork, six grandchildren, Amber Joyce Cosner, James Joyce, Justin Joyce, Brittany Joyce, Heather Joyce and Travis Joyce, four great grandchildren, Malcolm Cosner, Madison Joyce, Daniel Cosner and Hannah Cosner, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Blackberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Kieselbach, Dr. G.H. Vaughan and the Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30P.M. until 3:00P.M. at the church and other times at the home.
