

Luella Holland Green was born to Rufus Holland and Angie Swain Holland on September 10, 1921.
She was born and educated in Franklin County, Va. Married to the late Doc B. Green in 1940 of that blessed union were born 10 children.
She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age at the Lovely Valley Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, Va. and where she joined and remained a long time member. While living with her youngest daughter and caretaker Sheryl and Sergeant Keith Banner she faithfully attended the Adams Chapel AME Church of Harker Heights, Texas for 4 years.
She was a wonderful homemaker and always loved raising beautiful flowers around the home.
She worked for 58 years at the home of the late Ms. W.M. Bassett and Mrs. Spencer Morten at which time she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doc Benjamin Green and three sons, Joseph Green, Silas Leon Green of Rocky Mount, Va. and Barry Leonard Green of Desoto, Texas; four sisters, Leanna Richardson Noel of Bassett, Va., Antholine Belcher of Moneta, Va., Willie Pearl Edwards of Penhook, Va. and Odessa Green of Modesto, Ca.; three brothers, Clay Holland, Robert Holland and Rudolph Holland.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Aquilla Noel of Boones Mill, Va. and seven children, Barbara Harris of Richmond, Va., Wayne Green (Wanda) of Fieldale, Va., Patrick Green (Linda Sue) of Bassett, Va., Brenda Hill (Steve) of Savannah, Ga., Rev. Nathaniel Green (Rita) of Modesto, Ca., Rufus Green of Richmond, Va. and Sheryl Banner (Keith) of Fort Hood, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two devoted cousins, Betty Shelton and Roberta Carter; numerous extended family members and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J.D. Holland officiating. Burial will be at Carver Memorial Gardens in Fieldale, Va.
The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Wayne Green.
