Margaret Hester Stephenson

Margaret Hester (Piggie) Stephenson, 96, of Fieldale, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. She was born in Winston-Salem, NC on May 13, 1915 to James C. and Georgia Hellard Hester. She was a long-time member of Fieldale Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Circle and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Stephenson; a granddaughter, Beth Arnold; five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty H. Arnold of Fieldale; one granddaughter, Annette A. Willis and husband, Jay of Roanoke; one grandson, Bret L. Arnold and wife, Mandy and great-granddaughter, Harleigh Arnold of Madison, NC; a sister, Ruth H. Beck of Winston-Salem, NC and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Fieldale Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Richard Harrison will officiate, with interment to follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
