

Margaret Amy Hundley Tuggle, 93, of Bassett, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Stanleytown Health Care Center where she had been a resident for 4 ½ years. She was born in Henry County on November 18, 1918 to Walter Lee Hundley and Callie Belton Hundley. She retired from Fieldcrest Mill after 40 years and had been a member of Blackberry Baptist Church for 76 years. Margaret was also involved in many church activities including the WMU and the Lillie McCraw Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Irvin Henry Tuggle, an infant son, Wilbur Irvin Tuggle; a sister, Vivian Mae Willis; two brothers, Julian Morton Hundley and Walter Reginald “Rex” Hundley; two brothers-in-law, Dennis and Vernon Willis.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Hundley Willis of Martinsville; two sisters-in-law, Nellie B. Hundley of Martinsville and Ruth Morris of Flint, Michigan; one niece, Linda Gardiner and husband, Dan of Radford; one nephew, Jerry W. Willis and wife, Linda of Salem; three great nephews and one great niece.
The funeral service will be held Monday, September 3, 2012 at 11:00 am at Blackberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. G. H. Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Blackberry Baptist Church and other times at the home of her sister, Frances H. Willis.
