Marvin Dale Dillon, Sr., 67, of Martinsville, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, West Virginia. He was born on September 3, 1948 to Sam Dillon and Thelma Dillon. Marvin had served in the US Army and the National Guard. He was retired from J & J Southeast Container, a member of VFW and the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Marie Dillon.
Surviving are his daughter, Shannon Compton of Martinsville; his son, Dale Dillon, Jr. of Fieldale; step-son, Billy Alverson of Rocky Mount and his brothers, Qunard Dillon of Fieldale and Harold David “Smokie” Dillon of Vinton and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home with Dr. J. D. Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
