
She was born in Marion, NC, January 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Tate McCurry. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Thomas Taft Craig, her daughter, Bonnie Lou Craig Uram, her brother, Harlan McCurry and her step-mother, Lula Spencer McCurry.
Mary was a graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College and taught at Sanville Elementary and Campbell Court Elementary Schools for more than thirty years. She was a long-time member of Pocahontas Bassett Baptist Church.
She is survived by one niece, Mary Campbell Craig Stromire, two nephews, Fred Craig and Tommy Campbell, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 2, 2011, in Oakwood Cemetery in Martinsville with the Rev. George Hearn officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 to 11 A.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Bassett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bassett Rescue Squad, P.O.
