Mildred Franklin Franklin Bryant

Mildred Franklin Bryant, age 82, of Bassett, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at her home. Born in Roanoke March 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Franklin and Lena Mize Franklin. Also preceding her in death was her husband C. G. Bryant, Jr., who died in 2000. Mildred graduated from Bassett High School, was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and she retired from Bassett Furniture Industries after 20 years of service. Surviving are her two daughters, Bonita B. Sears and her husband Philip, of Fort Johnson, NY, and Darlene B. Morton of Bassett, her brother, Teddy Ray Franklin of Danville, a grandson, Jeremy Morton, and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Morton. The funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, December 12, 2011, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, with the Rev. Philip Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville.
