Mildred Adams Cockram

Mildred Adams Cockram, 89, formally of Bassett, Va. passed away at her daughter’s residence in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was born in Patrick County, Virginia on March 6, 1936 to Willie Marshall Adams and Carrie Reavy Reynolds Adams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Crawford and her second husband, Bennie Major Cockram; brothers, Bobby Adams and Junior Adams, and grandson, Anthony Bagley, Jr.

She is survived by her son Johnny Earl Crawford (Regina), daughter Karen Bagley; grandchildren, Johnathan Crawford, Jordan Crawford (Sarah), Kaylee Nolen (Drew), S. Jerrell Bagley and Shamika D. Bagley; 21 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Mildred was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She retired from Bassett Walker where she worked as an inspector. She loved spending time with her family and especially the little ones. She also enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, crocheting and playing rook.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Va. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm and will be officiated by Reverend Terry Dalton. An interment will follow at Patrick Henry Memorial Gardens in Patrick County.
