Mollie Catherine Wray

She was born in Pittsylvania County December 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Laura and Smith Hedrick. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Willie H. Wray, sons, Donald, Lawrence and Jeffrey Shelton, a sister, Margie Moore and brother Garland Hedrick.

Catherine retired from the furniture industry locally after working for many years and attended the Martinsville Church of Truth. She enjoyed doing yard work, working with her flowers, reading, traveling, she loved animals and most especially she loved her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Young of Henry, Shirley Campbell of Burlington, NC, two sons, Rex Shelton of Greenville, TN, Tommy Shelton of Bassett, two sisters, Mary Ann Barbour of Lynchburg, Shirley Shelton of Eden, NC, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and special friends, Louise, Beulah, Judy and Bill.

The funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with the Rev. William Preskitt officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
