Monte Ray Reeves, age 63, of 169 Beechwood Dr., Bassett, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, in Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born in Danville September 3, 1949, he was a son of the late Roy Reeves and Katherine Goble Reeves. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Reeves.
Monte retired from Bassett Mirror Co. after 30 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Reeves of Bassett, two daughters, Stacey Lynn Gregory of Bassett and Cynthia Marie Lynch of Martinsville, son, Steven Lee Reeves of Henry, step-son, Charlie Fulcher of Ridgeway, sister, Nyoka Sheraton of Martinsville, brother, Dennis Lee Reeves of Wichita, KS, five grandchildren, on great-granddaughter, and two step-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, September 24, 2012, at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with Rev. Tilden Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home.
