Nannie Baker Hagwood

Born in Franklin County April 29, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Alton and Olivia Roy Brown. Also preceding her in death was her husband Richard Lee Hagwood, a son Ronald L. Baker, two sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of Kitson Memorial Baptist Church and worked for a number of years at Bassett-Walker Knitting Company.

She is survived by two daughters Shirley Jones of Ferrum, Gracie Ross of Greenville, SC, two sons Stafford V. Baker (Frances) of Greenville, SC, Marvin R. Hagwood of Atlanta, GA, her sister/cousin, Gertrude Baker of Ferrum, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 1 P.M. Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Collins Funeral Home, Bassett with the Rev. Matthew Akridge and Elder John L. Manns officiating. Interment will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 1 P.M. prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter Shirley Jones.
