Nannie Collins Harris

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Maynard F. Harris; son, John Woodson Harris; daughter, Brenda Jean Harris; brothers, Edward, James, Vance and McKay Collins.

She is survived by her son, Tommy and his wife Yvonne Harris; daughter, Elaine and her husband Harry Wade; daughter-in-law Ann Harris; grandchildren, Belinda Ashworth and husband Todd, Amy Nester and husband Derrick, Felecia McBride and Wesley Pratt; great grand-children, Jordon and Emma Nester, Luke and Cory Ashworth, Savannah McBride and Corey Pratt; brothers, Buddy, Bobby and Charles Collins; sisters, Evelyne Crowder, Ruth Simmons, Ann Martin and Myra Jean Mills.

Mrs. Harris was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for 21 years at Eagles Department Store.

The family extends a very special thank you to Violet who helped in taking care of her; also to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care with special thanks to Nancy, Emily, Joseph and Jeff.

There will be a graveside service at Roselawn Burial Park at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016. There will be no visitation. The family will receive friends at the home of Tommy Harris, Sam Lions Trail and Elaine Wade of Lakemont Court.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Martinsville YMCA, 3 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, VA 24112.
