Stephen R Foley

Stephen R Foley, age 86 of Bassett, VA sadly left us to be with our Lord on February 13, 2024. Steve was born on December 2, 1937 in Lerona, W.VA to the late Richard Samuel Foley and the late Josie Law Foley. He was preceded death by his much loved son, Stephen Andrew (Andy) Foley, infant grandson, Ryan Turner Foley, step mother, Bennie Gore Foley, brothers and sisters, Royal Thomas Foley (Bertie), Ethel Marie Foley, Wanda Foley, Beatrice Foley (Earl), Richard S Foley, Jr. (Marie), Calvin Coolidge Foley (Madeline), Maxie Virginia Hall (Marvin), Arlie Dorsie Foley (Mettie), Billy James Foley (Virgie) Steve is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Anne Lambert Foley, son, Kenneth Alan Foley (Tracy), Daughter-In-Law, Deborah Turner Foley, Grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Horn (Chris), Jacob Andrew Foley, Ryan Alan Foley, Karen Marie Foley, Great Grandchildren, Alexander Barclay and William Stephen Horn, sisters, Betty Jean Hall (Raymond-Deceased) and JoAnne Foley Thompson (Harold-Deceased). Steve retired from Dupont after over 30 years of loyal service. He was also an honorably discharged veteran on the Army National Guard where he earned distinction of Carbine Rifle Expert as part of the 246th Artillery Unit. Steve loved playing golf with his friends and children where he carded two “Holes In One”. He enjoyed gardening, boating, cars and bluegrass music. His greatest joys were supporting his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with the Reverend Ryan Ware and Reverend Robert Edwards officiating. A private family Entombment will be at a later date.
