Sue Smith Gusler, 86, of Collinsville, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 15, 2018. Born on January 31, 1932 in Collinsville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Bartley and Erie Smith. Mrs. Gusler is preceded in death by her husband, George; a son, Larry White; her sister Dorothy Weaver, and brother-in-law, Milford Weaver.
Sue was a long-time resident of Collinsville and owner of Seller’s Mart for over 20 years. Family and friends were Sue’s love and joy. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Collinsville for many years. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus’ love and the beauty and peace that awaits her homecoming.
She is survived by five children: Jay White (Sandy), Susan Combee (Todd), Paul Gusler, Frances Mitchem (Jeff), and Glenda Inman (Johnny); eleven grandchildren and four great grandsons. Sue loved her family more than words can describe and she instilled in her children and grandchildren a deep sense of faith and a positive approach to life. Her spirit will continue to live in each of them.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Pastor Larry Cheek officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Church prior to the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
