Velma M. Collier

Velma Morrison Collier of 63 Westwood Court in Bassett, died Friday, February 4, 2011 at Select Speciality Care at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born in Patrick County to John Fred Morrison and Ruth Lawson Morrison.

She attended Collinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Roxie Morrison and Pauline Nichols, two brothers, John Clemons Morrison and Raleigh Morrison.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack G. Collier of the residence, one sister, Hester Pedigo of Collinsville and one brother, Charlie Morrison of Bassett and a sister-in-law, Billie Collier of Bassett.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Bassett with Pastor Dwayne Pruitt and the Rev. Joe Beck officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Bassett and other times at the residence.
