Wallace Wilbert Brown

Wallace Wilbert Brown, age 82 of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on November 27, 2021. He was born on November 27, 1939 to the late James Alfred Brown and the late Nola Gill Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Brown, a grandson, Joel Brown, a sister, Loretta Williams and a brother, Roy Brown. He was retired from Bassett Furniture. He was a member of People’s Church of the Living God where he was a former Deacon and Superintendent of Sunday School. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Maxine Clark Brown, five daughters, Tammy Akridge (John), Saprena Cook, Paula Brown (Timothy Craighead), Victoria Brown, Tamika Elgin, two sisters, Juanita Andrews, Mary Carr (William Roger), two brothers, Henry Brown, Paul Brown (Virginia), seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia. A Private Funeral Service for the family will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
