

Gail was born at Salem, Massachusetts May 18, 1959. She was raised by her mother Mary and late stepfather Roger Bernaiche and is a 1977 graduate of Andress High School (El Paso, Texas). On April 30, 1988, Gail married Michael MacDonald and the couple where blessed with two wonderful children, Sean and Megan. After moving to Bastrop in 2003, Gail became involved with the Bastrop Police Department serving as an adult advisor for Police Explorer Post 820, a member and officer of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, and member of the department’s Citizens On Patrol (COP) program. Gail and her fellow COP members routinely patrolled the streets of Bastrop on Friday nights. Gail also found time to help in the concession stand during the Bear Relays, at the Bastrop High School, and was a huge supporter of Bear Football, Tiger Basketball and the cheer and dance programs at Bastrop and Cedar Creek Middle Schools. Although Gail was a sworn advocate of C.A.S.A, her illness prevented her from becoming active in the organization. Over the years Gail had become a much loved and respected member of the community.
She is preceded in death by father Roger Bernaiche, sister Donna Lamonde, and nephew Tom Lamonde.
Gail is survived by her husband, Michael MacDonald (Bastrop), son Sean MacDonald (Bastrop), daughter Megan and Andrew Campbell (El Cajon, California), mother Mary Bernaiche and sister Cheryl Bernaiche (Bastrop), brother Tom and Sue Lamonde and nephew William and Christy Lamonde (Canyon Lake, Texas).
Visitation for Gail is Monday, July 2, 2012, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home, 505 Old Austin Hwy, Bastrop Texas, 78602. Services are at 10:00AM, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 202 Hwy 71 West, Bastrop, Texas, 78602.
