

Jack D. Jenkins of Bastrop, Texas passed away August 30thin Austin, Texas at the age of 82 with his wife of 54 years, Dottie, by his side. Jack served in the US Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1968 after a tour in Vietnam. He retired from his second career as the Ranger at the Boy Scouts of America Lost Pines Scout Reservation in Bastrop, Texas in 1996. During his 19 years as Ranger, Jack influenced generations of Scouts with his wisdom and wit. As a lifelong Boy Scout, Jack was a vigil member of the Tonkawa Lodge Order of the Arrow and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Jack is survived by wife, Dottie of Bastrop, Texas; daughter, Amy Bayes of Columbia, Maryland; three grandchildren, Ryan Bayes of North Carolina, Matt Bayes of Maryland and Sarah Bayes of Florida; and two great grandchildren, Devica and Hunter Bayes of Maryland.
