She was born in Grand Saline, Texas on December 13, 1929 to Bob and Roxie Hays.

Josephine is survived by 3 sons, Jerry Huff and his wife Mary J of Mt. Vernon; Ronnie Huff and his wife Shelly of Austin; Jay Anderson and his wife Rebel of Buffalo Gap; 3 daughters, Roxie Ann Taylor and her husband Dennis of Paige; Charlotte Roginski of Dallas; Pat Cavness and her husband Darrell of Georgetown; 2 step-sons, Richard Scarborough of Grand Prairie; Tom Scarborough and his wife Fay of Henderson; brother, jimmy Hays and his wife Shirley of San Antonio; 2 sisters, Billie jean Tuttle and her husband Leon of Rockwall; Mary Lewis and her husband Ed of Buleson; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Visitation was from 5pm to 8pm Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.

Funeral Service was 10 am Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Marrs-Jones Newby Funeral Home with a Private family Burial following the services.
