Ritha Bernice Tharp

Ritha Bernice Tharp, age 88, of Bastrop, TX passed away on Sunday December 17, 2017. Ritha was born October 23, 1929 in Chickasha, OK to Orbra and Ival Mae (Davis) Whisenhunt. Ritha was a faithful caregiver serving as a nurses aide at nursing homes Ritha is survived by; sons, Micheal Tharp and Mark Tharp; daughters, Geneva Blackwell, Ritha Burnham, Leona Bulak, Rachel Young, and Pamela Tharp; a sister Patricia Newt; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Ritha was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Tharp. A visitation for Ritha was held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home, 505 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop, Texas 78602. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home, Texas. An interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, 178 Oak Hill Cemetery Rd., McDade, Texas.
