He was born to Alfred and Ida Bullock Cothern on July 21, 1932 in Portales, New Mexico.
He is survived by his siblings: Jeannie Owings, Wanda Fish, Johnny Cothern and Ricci Johnson.
Jack had three children: Jackie Boatman (Robert), Freddy Cothern (Cheryl) and April Lemons (Jesse).
He also leaves four grandchildren: Elizabeth Van Allen (Tim), Michael Boatman, Matthew Boatman and Jackson Cothern (Tiffany) as well as nine greatgrandchildren: Annemarie, Donna, Stephen, Grace, Venita and Josephine Van Allen; Christian Cothern, Ethan and Easton Elmquist.
He will be laid to rest in Tucumcari Memorial Park in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
