

"Aaron Paul Belanger, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on May 9, 2017, at the age of 21 after an eight-month battle with cancer. He was a 2013 graduate of Catholic High School and attended LSU, majoring in political communication. He had a passion for coaching, history and politics. He is survived by his parents, Paul Belanger Jr. and Kristen Levert Belanger; sisters, Alyse Belanger and Alex Belanger; maternal grandfather, Sam Levert, and wife Christine; maternal grandmother, Jo Ann and husband Rich Thompson; paternal grandfather Paul Belanger Sr. and wife Anne; aunts and uncles, Carolyn Bryant and husband Brad, Mike Levert, Brett Levert and wife Claire, Keith Levert and wife Kristin, and Lisa Albano and husband Michael. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Loretta Belanger. Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 noon celebrated by Fr. Trey Nelson. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Aaron was an amazing and thoughtful son, dedicated brother and great friend to all he met. He was a great role model who touched so many lives in a short period of time. He was passionate about coaching his girls' and boys' basketball teams and teaching young children to swim.
