
A loving husband and doting father and grandfather, he passed away on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenter. He was 90, a resident of Baton Rougeand a native of New Orleans. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Helen Nosacka Jung. He was the father of the late Rev. Albert J. Jung, S.J., Ronald J. Jung of Metairie, Michael E. Jung of Los Angeles and Mary Ann Jung Giardina of Baton Rouge, and grandfather of Shelley Jung Moore, Sean Jung, Todd Giardina and Scott Giardina. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Jung Fauquier, who was ofSeligman, Mo., and Ernest C. Jung and Thelmarie Jung Fasnacht, who were of New Orleans. For years, he worked as a salesman at Southern Wheel and Rim and then at Kehoe Tire and Supply, retiring at the age of 80. He was a deacon of the Covenant United Methodist Church of Arabi and St. Bernard and led the Sunday service and choir for many years. He was also a founding member of the Shepherd's Club at the same church and in 1998 received its Homecoming Award. He was an honorary member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in the 9th Ward. With his wife, Helen, he served on the board of directors and led the weekly congregational service at the St. Margaret's Daughters Nursing Home for more than 25 years. At the age of 55, he and his wife began entertaining at numerous nursing care facilities in the Greater New Orleans area with, among other groups, the Over-the-Hill Gang, the Young At Heart Singers, the Good Time Singers of New Orleans House of Rehabilitation and The Triads. He was a graduate ofWarrenEastonHigh Schooland a member of St. Bernard AARP and Holy Cross Neighborhood Association. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with rosary at 8 p.m. Visitation at the Covenant United Methodist Church, 115 E. D'Amour St., at Pads Road, St. Bernard, on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until funeral service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Bob Bengston, the Rev. Jeff Connor and the Rev. Becky Connor. Interment inSt.Roch Cemetery No. 1, New Orleans.
