

"Albert "Wayne" Lemke, a native of Chicago, Ill., and resident of Baton Rouge, La., passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the age of 92. Wayne was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church for over 54 years. He was a member of the Army Air Corps and served during World War II. He was an avid golfer and had memberships at Sherwood Forest, Fairwood and Greystone Country Clubs. He was also a long time employee of Cargill Corporation. His greatest legacy is the life he lived as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was married to the love of his life Joan for 71 years, preceding him in death only 2 months prior. Their love is an example for generations to come. He is survived by four children, Cindy and Brad Black of Baton Rouge, Patty and Mike O'Neal of Baton Rouge, Rick Lemke of Nashville, Tenn., and Suzy and Don Nauck of Baton Rouge; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel (Faye) Black, Jason (Alice), Lance (Melissa) and Kelly (Chris Kyle) O'Neal, Chris Lemke, Jordan Henderson, Blaine (Mary Lauren), Donnie, Michael (Lydia), and Jordan Nauck; 14 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Faith and Harry Mathis; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan, parents, Albert and Florence Lemke; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Harriett Lemke; and son-in-law, Jerry Henderson. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Rolfsen and caregivers Trish Moran and Carmen Douglas. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. until a service at 11 a.m., conducted by Father Pat Broussard and Deacon Joe Scimeca. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason and Lance O'Neal, Daniel Black, Jordan Henderson, Donnie and Michael Nauck. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Lemke, Blaine and Jordan Nauck and Chris Kyle. Memorial donations in honor of Wayne Lemke can be made to Orbis International (Orbis.org).
