A retired local television and radio broadcaster and a native and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away Friday, July 9, 2010, at Hospice of Baton Rouge at age 100. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. James Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Lou Simpson Loudon. He is survived by his two sons, Gordon Marcus Loudon and wife Judy, and Robert M. Loudon and wife Joy; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was baptized at St. James Episcopal Church in 1910 and sang in the choir until age 90. A graduate of Istrouma High School, he received his bachelor's degree from LSU. After retirement, he was an avid gardener and bicycled daily until his late 80s. He was known as the neighborhood "fix it" man and enjoyed repairing bicycles, lawnmowers and just about everything else for people in the neighborhood.
