Albert “Reese” Patterson, III died at his Baton Rouge home on Friday, April 16, 2021. He was born October 16, 1948 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Reese was a graduate of Istrouma Senior High; BS in Mathematics, Louisiana State University, and Masters in History, Southeastern Louisiana University. He retired from teaching at Istrouma Senior High School and the Louisiana State Archives on Essen Lane. Reese was a history buff and enjoyed helping patrons of the State Archives find historical document. He had many occupations over the years as home builder, technician for Gamma Industries, educator and the job he may have loved best as a commercial airline pilot. He and his wife Rebecca were animal advocates.
Reese’s ashes will be buried in a grave side service at the historical Yeocomico Church, Virginia at a future date. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial celebration Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home & Crematory, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Wicker Patterson, brothers David Arthur and Joyceann Patterson, Charles Richard and Rita Patterson, Paul Robert and Cindy Patterson. Nephew Matthew Charles Patterson and Nieces Brittany Lee Elmore, Katherine Reese Patterson, Carrie Ann Eicherson and Toni Beth Broussard and great nieces and nephew Estella and Virginia Elmore, and John Wyatt Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Reese “Pat” Patterson, Jr and Charlie Vonceile Baxter Patterson, CPA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, 550 Lobdell Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 (225) 927-2273.
Reese wishes you all good health and was humbly thankful for those who provided care and services during his long battle against cancer.
Odie, his faithful companion will miss his master greatly.
