
Albert "Scooter" Valentine passed away at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Aug. 28, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center after a brief illness. Scooter was born May 1, 1927, in Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. until funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Bill Pruitt and Donnie Easley. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Scooter is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Edna Sholar Valentine; daughter, Laurie Valentine Brown; and grandson, Brandan Brown. Also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Charlie Tabler and Theresa and Paul Paline; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Catherine Valentine and Kenneth "Buck" and Helen Valentine; special nephew, Milton; and many nieces and other nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Benton and Annie Terrell Valentine; brothers, Jimmie, Irvin, Frank and Vannie; and sisters, Mamie and Beatrice. Albert served in the U.S. Army, was former owner of Valentine and LeBlanc Construction Co. and member of Graceworks Church. Pallbearers will be Milton, Kim and Bruce Valentine, Paul Paline, Michael Ioannides and Ronnie Deville. Honorary pallbearers are P.J. LeBlanc, Sam LoCicero, Donald Gomez, Earlie Durham, Clay Clement, Daniel Brown, Gene Cagle, Rex Thornhill, Brandan Brown, Robert Koelling and David Sholar.
