A retired school teacher, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of the Central community, she died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at her home. She was 98. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, March 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the funeral home chapel on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ferris Jordan. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Stephen Kaufman and Sue Ellen and John Graham; two grandchildren, Catherine Grammer and husband Walter, and John Bradley Kaufman; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Anne Claire Grammer; and cousins, Elme Sevario, Johnnie Powers, Olive Kimball, Charles Fridge and Jodie Mae Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Forbes; parents, William and Anna Edwards; three sisters and four brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. She was a longtime member of Istrouma Baptist Church and Istrouma Chapter 162 Order of Eastern Star.
