
A native and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died as gracefully as she lived at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs. She was 83. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Wednesday, May 19, was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday, May 20, from 9 a.m. until religious service in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll. Burial will follow in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by her two daughters, Louise Ickes Klicker, of Denham Springs, and Diana Josephine Ickes, of Baton Rouge; son, Raymond Merle Ickes and wife Yong Son Ickes, of Aurora, Colo.; sister, Evon M. Corley, of Vidalia; brother, Albert Miller, of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Merle Roy Ickes; parents, Louis and Josephine Dillinger Miller; sister, Rose M. Meyers; brothers, Allen and William Miller; and grandson, Kevin R. Klicker. Pallbearers will be Dana Klicker, Alan Knight, Destry Cantril and Chad J. Lanoux. She was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church where she was involved in children's education and activities. She supported her community through many years as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Harvest Manor Nursing Home and Life Source Hospice for their loving care and support during the last years of her life.
