Alice Ann Nickens Page “Granny”, devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, departed this life to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, April 24, 2026. Born on July 15, 1945, she was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. Alice was a proud graduate of LSU and retired East Baton Rouge Parish school teacher. She was passionate about teaching and caring for her students in and out of the classroom.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her sisters, Linda Hymel (L.J.) and Susan Jordan (Richard); two daughters, Kristie Seal (Benjie) and Karlin O’Neal; seven grandchildren, who were her greatest joy, Shelby Chandler (Auston), Charlie Seal (Klaire), Savannah Boudreaux (Taylor), Taylor David (Hunter), Alexandra, Isabella and Emma O’Neal; and four great-granddaughters, Eleanor, Kennedy, Adeline, Sadie and soon to be arriving, Elizabeth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Florette Nickens, to whom she was a devoted caretaker; her siblings, Robert Nickens and Terri Gerace; and her son, Travis Lane Bellue.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, on Monday, May 4, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, May 5, from 9 am until funeral service at 10 am, conducted by Lance Bourgeois. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benjie Seal, Eric Simoneaux, Auston Chandler, Charlie Seal, Taylor Boudreaux and Hunter David. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area in Baton Rouge.
