Alice Harelson Wax

A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the age of 99. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She was the epitome of a gracious southern lady. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton L. Wax; her parents, Samuel James Harelson and Rita Triche Harelson; siblings: Eva Mae Dyer (Howard), Hazel Williams (Francis), Samuel James "S.J." Harelson, Jr. (Dorothy), and Walter W. Harelson (Bobbye). She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Samuel James "Tinker" Harelson III (Christy), Michael Harelson of Shreveport, LA, Brenda H. Verbois, Carol H. Green, and Kenneth R. Harelson (Molly). She is also survived by her great-nieces and nephews: Julie H. Enright (Richmond) of Savannah, GA, Jeffrey Harelson (Jenny) of Chapel Hill, NC, Benjamin Verbois, Cayleen Green, Brandt Green, Maci Harelson, and Gabriel Harelson; and by her 4 great-great nieces and nephew. Graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 2pm. Donations in her memory would be appreciated to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
