I love you Pawpaw, and we all miss you so so much!

Dear Pawpaw,
I love you so much. We all miss you. I KNOW that I will never ever meet anyone like you. I am so happy your great granddaughter got to know you- she points to your picture often and exclaims "Pawpaw!!!" I wish she could have had more time with you because we have so many great memories and stories to share about you. I haven't been able to sit in your chair because it's weird to think that you aren't there to tell me to "get out" of it. You will be missed incredibly for the rest of our lives. I can't wait to see you in heaven.

I pray on behalf of the LeBlanc family during their time of grief and loss. My deepest condolences and warmest memories go out to Roberta, Annette, Mike and families. Love and miss you all.

Dear Annette and Family,

Cathy and I were so sorry to read of Mr. Allen's death. I know he must surely be at peace now. We read in awe of the beautiful letter written by your brother, Mike, of what a wonderful dad he was and how he had come to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That is the ultimate blessing there, knowing that one day we will all meet again and be together in a much better place where we will never suffer and only be at peace. Our prayers are with each of you as you go through this trying time and in the coming days but remember, it is for but a short time and the ultimate goal is to meet again in our forever Heavenly home. May God keep you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the LeBlanc family and all of the friends who knew and loved Mr. LeBlanc. May  all of your memories of him give you comfort.

What a blessing in my life to have been connected to this wonderful family.  Mike, your tribute to your daddy tugged on a mixture of emotions and brought tears... I enjoyed those occasions when I was able to spend time with your dad, although it seems like forever ago since I've seen him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, that God will help you draw on memories and each other to deal with your loss.  Love you guys.

Michael, Amy, Ashley and Daniel my heart aches with you in this loss of your dad and pawpaw, but my spirit also rejoices with you to know that one sweet day you'll see him again.  I know that must have been an awesome day, Mike, to see your dad at that age accept the Lord!!!!  May God, in His awesomeness, give your family a peace that passes all understanding as you celebrate Mr. Allen's homegoing.  I love you guys dearly.

I was so blessed to know this dear man and to be a part of his and his family's life. Although I didn't see them often, they remained my dear friends. My prayers to all for peace and comfort from our Lord Jesus Christ

Allen (Pawpaw LeBlanc) will be so greatly missed.  He was a wonderful man and I am so glad I had the pleasure of knowing him.  May God comfort you all.

I was scared the first time I was to meet Allen (PawPaw)LeBlanc 10 years ago.  He had plenty of right to dislike me, but he was gracious and welcoming.  I knew then what fine people they were.  I have always been welcome in His and MawMaw Roberta's home.  I love and respect them deeply.  My sympathy and prayers are with your family and our kids, who lost such a fine PawPaw.  Mike, your tribute to your Dad is beautiful.  May God be with you all.  Weird things happen in our lives and God works them for our good.  Allen and Roberta LeBlanc have been part of that good in my life and I thank God for them.

Randy & Annette, So sorry to hear of your loss.

Thanks, Daddy, for several great lifetimes we've had together.  Thanks for taking me with you "back to the camp" from the time when I was too little to find hip boots my size.  How many cold mornings did we pass in the beautiful swamps and woods of Louisiana?  All of the fishing, crawfishing, and crabbing trips were so great, if we caught something or not.  Thanks for letting me use your fine Browning shotgun to shoot ducks, rabbits, squirrels and deer.  In fact you alway told me "what's mine is yours."  

Thanks for letting me play Booray with you and the other men, for teaching me how to lead with a kicker and to play the big trumps to draw the other ones out.  If you were winning I knew that I didn't have to worry too much about losing.  And you won more than your fair share!  You taught me to win too.  Thanks for throwing the ball in the yard with me for hours on end even though I always threw too hard and wild!  

Thank you for always being supportive and accepting of me.  Even in times when I screwed up, you were there to help me --from fixing a flat tire I busted on the road somewhere to even helping me get out of a scrape with the law. God only knows all that you and Momma have done for me.  Thank you.  Thanks for paying for a college education for me.  Thank you for the jobs you got for me and the work ethic you lived out every day of your life, getting up at 5:00 in the morning and working to support us.  

Thanks for accepting me when I decided to follow Jesus Christ 100%.  You laughed and said I had become a "holy rolly" though non-Cajun folks say "holy roller!"  You thought I was throwing my life away when I became a missionary, but you were my most faithful supporter in all my years out of the country.  When I got deported from Mexico you were there to meet us at the airport.  When I got sick in the Dominican Republic you and Momma helped me get back healthy again.  I remember you told me, "boy, you gonna die if you go back down there..."  Thank God you were wrong that time!  And you were right most of the time. Thanks for all your help.  I can think of at least 3 vehicles you bought outright for us to preach the Gospel out of the country.  God touched your heart the one time you could tear away from work and visit us down in Mexico.  I had to stop you from emptying your pockets of all your money to "help those poor people" in our church.  We passed those beggars on the streets  downtown and you told me "boy give that old lady some money!"  Maybe you've met some of the Mexicans and Dominicans that were won to the Lord that have gone before us.  

Thanks for opening your home to the kids and me when we crash landed back here in the States.  No grandkids ever loved their pawpaw more than my kids loved you.  They will always remember "get outta my chair!"  I'll never forget going to a fish fry with ya'll when the kids were still little and one of the girls coming up so surprised and saying "Pawpaw's name is Baby-Do and he cusses!"  Neither will I forget the day though, when you called me up when I was groggy from working shift work and told me that the preacher had come by to see you.  I didn't know where that was going but I, along with many others, had been praying for you for years.  When you told me "I've accepted the Lord and I was wondering, if you weren't working Sunday after next, if you and Michele would want to come see me get baptized," I couldn't have been happier.  Seeing you at 71 years of age standing in the baptistery tank was a miracle before our eyes.  I know what it took for you to change those years of opinions about Jesus Christ.  But He graciously takes us in spite of that!  And it takes a miracle for any of us to humble ourselves and give our hearts to Jesus.  But He still does miracles everyday.  When the preacher asked you why you wanted to be baptized, you said "because Jesus Christ is Lord."  I could not have been prouder to be your son.  You were so happy then saying how good that had felt and how that you wished that you had done that a long time ago!  

Jesus tells about the man who hired laborers for his field and he goes out from early until late hiring people.  But at the end of the day, everybody gets the same pay, whether they worked all day or only started at the end of the day.  The folks that had worked all day thought that they should have received more than the latecomers.  But we all receive His same generous gift and none of us deserve it.  I guess it doesn't matter when we start for the Lord, what matters is that we start.  I'm so glad you and I and so many of our family did!

Michele and I will always relish that moment at our wedding when we were taking pictures with you.  You leaned over to her and said "welcome to the family cher, I hope it lasts!"  When we chided you for saying something so blunt, you defended yourself saying, "Well I DO hope it lasts!"  Thanks for that and all the laughs we've had.

I really appreciate how you fought the battle for your health, especially this last decade.  How we hated to see you go down and how hard it was on you!  This last year was terrible seeing you suffer so and have so little movement for yourself.  But we so appreciated having you with us every day!  Thank you for every effort you made with all the doctors, nurses and therapy people.  It was all to no avail but you struggled on!  I had hoped you could last a few more years so Benjamin could know his Pawpaw more and Brooklyn could know her Great Grandpa more.  But we don't live forever in this life.  

Like the song says, "I can only imagine" what it was like at 5:00 Monday morning when you "woke up" to your new life.  I'm so glad that I'll get to see you there AND to see the One, face-to-face, Who has been responsible for all the wonderful times we've enjoyed in these lives we've had together.  See you soon Daddy!
