Almaz A. Marzwanian, 98, passed away on October 19, 2026. She was born on January 10, 1928, in Beirut, Lebanon then later moved to the United States in October 1987 and made her home in LaPlace, Louisiana. Throughout her long life, Almaz was steadfast in her devotion to those she loved, and her deepest joys were rooted in family. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church and cherished her church family.
Almaz is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lucy Marwanian; son, Zeron Marzwanian (Zarig); daughter, Alice Hasserjian; son, Garbis Marzouwanian (Taline); daughter, Sossie Shahabian (Garabed); daughter, Silva Makhoul (Jean); along with 14 grandchildren and their spouses and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Khatchig and Mackrouhi Mozian; her husband, Avedis Marzwanian; her son, Harout Marzwanian and her brothers, Sarkis, Hagop, Garo, and Krikor.
A visitation will be held at St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church on October 24, 2026 at 10AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
