Alvin Burkhalter, 88 died Friday July 24, 2015 in Baton Rouge.A man of strong Christian faith, Mr. Burkhalter was financial advisor and Eldership board member of Healing Place, where he was founder of the Senior Adult group he named Pioneers. U. S. Air force Veteran of WWII and owner of Concept Homes Inc. Survived by his wife Dot, 2 daughters June Lyons and her husband Russ, and Laurel Doucet and her husband Greg. 2 sons Alan and his wife Linda Burkhalter, and Lance and his wife Christa Burkhalter. 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday July 27 at 12 noon in the chapel of Greenoaks Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Austin officiating. Interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or The Healing Place.
