Alvin M. Mix III, 64, passed away into his heavenly home on February 16th, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born on November 18, 1960. He lived his entire life in Baton Rouge and was affectionately known to many as "Bee."
Al was a graduate of Lee High School and retired from Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) with 33 years of service. In his retirement, Al spent his days with his wife Leslie, completing crossword puzzles, watching jeopardy and a lot of golf. He was a natural with a quick wit and making others laugh. However, his biggest passions were his kids and grandkids. He fought his entire life just to spend one more day with them.
Al was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was a loving father and husband. Al is survived by his wife, Leslie Mix; his mother Lois Mix; his sister Tommie Jo Hunt and husband, Tommy; his daughter Lauren Salvail and husband, Scott; his son Michael Mix; his grandchildren Lucas and Whitt Salvail, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Alvin Michael Mix, Jr.
Services will be held at St. Aloysuis Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave, Baton Rouge on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. followed by the interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd.
Pallbearers are Hunter Blouin, Kelly Cragin, Kimberly Gremillion, Cody Hunt, Scott Salvail, Lucas Salvail, Whitt Salvail, and Taylor Wax.
