Alyce L Simmons

Devoted wife, mother and grandmother, was welcomed to her Heavenly Home by her Savior, Jesus Christ, her parents and her beloved son after a lengthy illness on December 23, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 72 and a resident of Denham Springs and native of Atlanta, GA. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Left to honor her memory are her loving husband of 55 ½ years Jerry Simmons, four daughters Cheryl Mitchell and husband David, Shereen Purvis and husband Gerald, Valerie Arnold and husband Dean and Angela Simmons, sister Loxye Patterson and husband Jack, brother Jim Quick and six grandchildren Clint Purvis, Carissa Pearson and husband Tyler, Victoria Mitchell, Sr. Airman Cade Arnold (U.S. Air Force), Dane Arnold and Kayleigh Arnold. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Quick, mother Helen Quick and her son Cpl. Gerald Kevin Simmons, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center especially Drs. Brian and Steven Gremillion.
