Andrea Ashford Karner

Andrea Ashford Karner, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother”, 51, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Prairieville, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at her home after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend. A graduate of Glen Oaks High School, Andrea loved her family and most especially her daughters, taking care of others and spending time gardening. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Chris Karner; daughters: Jessica and Brittany Karner; parents Jim and Mary Ashford; siblings: Scott Ashford, and Traci Caruso and husband Keith; nieces and nephews: Kyle Caruso, Darion Caruso, Bobby Karner, Avory Mitchell, and Shawn Ashford; and other numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Philo and Gertie Andre, and Herman and Irma Ashford; and brother-in-law Bob Karner. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, August 10, 2011 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Saturday, August 11, 2011 from 10am until service times at 12pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bobby Karner, Austin Gunning, Keith Caruso, Kyle Caruso, Darion Caruso, and Patrick Lipoma.
