

Andrew Olaf Wikman, a loving spouse and father died on January 1, 2018, at the age of 90. He was born in Florida on August 11, 1927, and was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge. After completing his degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas in 1950, Andy continued his education at the University of Florida earning a master’s degree. In 1974, he completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard University School of Business. Andy started with Ethyl Corporation’s R&D department in August of 1951, and served 43 years in various levels of responsibility, accumulating 11 patents, and became Vice President and General Manager of Industrial Chemicals in 1981. He was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Chemical Engineers in 2006. In November 1952, Andy married Ernie and spent 65 years enjoying life together in Baton Rouge, Branson, and the other parts of the globe they visited. Andy spent his leisure time watching LSU football and golfing with the MSGA where he earned the Distinguished Senior Award in 2016. Faithful dog Reggie was his constant companion. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pearl Wikman; brother, Lenard Wikman and sister, Geneva Hurless, and daughter-in-law, Donna Wikman. Andy is survived by his loving wife Ernie Wikman; son Harold Wikman; son Andy Wikman and fiancée Judy Arroyave; daughter Kristie Palfrey, husband Will and their three children: Gayle Mujica, husband Fernando; Dr. Taylor Palfrey, wife Catherine; Carolyn Stoddard, husband Thomas; and 5 great grandchildren: Elena, Sofia, Andy, Henry, and Tommy. Other survivors include brothers William Wikman, wife Sandy; Dr. John Wikman, wife Barbara; sister-in-law Paulin Wikman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 12 noon until funeral service beginning at 2pm.
