

Anita was born on April 3, 1936 a native of Morganza, LA and current resident of Lafayette, LA. On November 30, 2020 at 2:08am Anita passed peacefully with her family surrounding her.
Spending time with her family was always the top priority for Anita. She enjoyed fellowship and volunteering at Family Life Church with her many precious friends and loved ones. Cooking was her passion and she was well known for her crawfish bisque, roast and gravy, stuffed crabs and many of the famous LeBlanc family recipes. She had a love of fishing and playing Rummicub with her precious friends Janice, Babs and Rena.
Her 4 children, 16 grandchildren, their spouses and her 23 great grandchildren were her most precious treasures on earth and each one knew the full love of their Maw Maw. Anita is survived by her children, Marietta ‘Tootie’ and David Anderson, Benito ‘Benny’ and Sheryl ‘Sherri’ Muguira, Domingo ‘Mingo’ Muguira Jr. and Joseph ‘Joe’ and Terese Muguira; her sister, Sadie Ottis and sisters-in-law, Shirley LeBlanc and Theresa Muguira. Her 16 grandchildren include Chris, Jeremy and Brad Anderson, Benito ‘Benny’, Nicholas and Tony Muguira, Ashley Coffelt, Garrett, Brittany, Lauren, Samuel and Chad Muguira, Katherine ‘Katie’, Michael, Jonah and Emma Muguira. Anita’s great grandchildren are Logan, Kylie, Harper, Halle, Hollyn, Isabella, Butch, Tenni, Hodges, Kate, Finn Anderson, Dominic, Blaise, Corbin and Julia Muguira, Ashton, Max, and Alex Coffelt, Brooklyn, Reina, Sophia, Ella and Mila Muguira. She will be missed by her many LeBlanc and Muguira nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Domingo ‘Sunny’ Muguira Sr.; grandson, Garrett Muguira; parents, Louis and Marie Yetta Lejeune LeBlanc; sisters, Dova Lafield, Marie Andre, Melba Cazes and Shirley LeBlanc; and brothers, Lester, Rudy and Numa LeBlanc.
Anita taught her family to love each other unconditionally and to put family first. She loved God. Her strong faith and wisdom were always there when we needed her. To know Anita was to love her. She brightened the day of everyone she met. She always encouraged, nurtured, and put the needs of others above her own. She will always hold a piece of our hearts.
The family extends special thanks to the many doctors and nurses who have assisted in her treatment and care over the last year. Lafayette General Cardio and Pulmonary Doctors, Nurses and the Hospital staff of the 6th floor. We are especially grateful to Dustin and Ryan for taking our Mama through The Passage with great compassion and care.
Her time is now…It is not the end but the passing. Thank You for giving her to us. Thank You for letting us be from her. Help us to carry forward her spirit and her character in us. We are going to miss her fiercely, but we are content; and we are grateful that she is finally home. Give Pop and Garrett a kiss for us Mama!
A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 pm until time of service at 4:00 pm at Family Life Church, 2223 Dulles Dr., Lafayette LA on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 4:00 pm.
