Ann Bennett Carmouche

Ann was born on November 10, 1942, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Loving daughter of Thomas Barton Bennett of Baton Rouge and Eula Lee Safley Bennett of Texas,

Ann graduated from Baton Rouge High and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Louisiana State University.

A true southern lady, passionate about her family, Ann loved all the finer things in life including the Tigers and Saints. But most dearly, Ann loved her deceased husband and soulmate, George.

Ann and George spent thirty-plus happy years together sharing a common love of music, dancing, golf, travel, and time spent with their children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Ann has now joined her soulmate in Heaven.

In addition to her loving husband George L. Carmouche, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Thomas “Tommy” Bennett, brothers-in-law Rick “Big” Landry, Lee Meyer, and Phil Lott, nephews Bobby Landry and Ben Meyer.

She is survived by: sisters/brothers-in law: Donald (Kathleen) Carmouche, Kathleen “Sugar” Meyer, James (Marie) Carmouche, Elizabeth “Betty” Carmouche Lott, Jeanette (Mike) Pelegrín and Gaye B. Bennett; stepchildren: Bill (Raquel) Carmouche, Cheryl (Steve) Cake, Scott (Mary) Carmouche, and Paul (Maria) Carmouche; grandchildren: Alexie, Bibi, and Austin Carmouche, Michelle (Travis) Moore, Elicia (Richard) Jo, Mathew (Brittany) Evans, Chris Carmouche, Gretchen (Govian) España, Tommy (Rachel Yazbeck) Rothermel, Grant Rothermel, Johanna (Isaiah) Cody, Julie, Nathan (Katelyn) and Nicholas Carmouche; and great-grandchildren: Melanie, Mackenzie and Lucas Moore, Tavi and Gunnar España, Harlow and Lilah Cody.

A Celebration of Life for Ann Carmouche will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, 1:30 PM-3:00PM, with visitation from 12:30PM-1:30PM.

In lieu of flowers the family request any donations be made in Ann Carmouche’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
