On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Lord called our precious mother home. Although we weren’t ready, Heaven needed another angel, and we were left with our memories of her. She was the perfect example of a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spent many hours with them. Between brief stints as a bank loan officer and a preschool teacher, she lived to be with her immediate and extended family. She burned up the roads from Texas to Mississippi, visiting family as often as possible. She loved to travel with her late husband and went “abroad” many times in her life. She was a fantastic cook and kept a beautiful home. She loved to entertain. “Miss Anna”, as most people knew her, was preceded in death by the love of her life, James “Buzz” Crosby; her parents Leonard and Fairy Stuart; her brother Don Stuart; her sister Sue Nowell; and two nephews, Leonard Doyle Stuart and John Stuart Sharp. She leaves behind many relatives to mourn her passing: her daughter Teresa Frank (Garry); son Greg Crosby (Terri); three grandchildren, Kristen Sheffield (Will), Alex Frank (Megan), and Chandler White (Lauren); and two great grandsons, James Frank and Rawlings White. She also leaves behind five sisters: Wanda Sharpe, Betty Kilgore (Haimes), Martha Ashley (Danny), Joan Vines, and Frances Hollingsworth (Fred); and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews to miss her. A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 9-10:30am at the John Stephens Chapel in Philadelphia, Mississippi, with a graveside service to follow at 11am at the Old Pearl Valley Baptist Church cemetery. Special thanks to those wonderful people who participated in her care: Dr. Lara Falcon and her staff; Dr. Andrew Rees; the staff at Our Lady of the Lake on the 8th floor (Heart and Vascular); and the staff at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joseph Hospice in memory of “Miss Anna” at 10615 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA. 70809. We will miss you Mama but you taught us to believe: “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you” John 16:22.
